The unscrambler is well established with large commercial diving companies, the military, deep sea research organisations and for medical hyperbaric chambers, where clarity of unscrambled speech is paramount.
The unscrambler uses an audio amplifier with cross switching to allow communication between the tender and the divers. Two complex forms of digital techniques using time domain processing are used to filter and lower the frequency of a divers voice resulting in intelligable speech. Mode one available on both 3319A and 3342C units is designed for use at normal depths with a normal microphone.
A remote switch can also be connected allowing a foot pedal to perform the press to talk function. The record jack allows a recording device to make complete records of all communications.
