Installation
SMP can offer our customers an Installation Service. We will
undertake a complete installation from the design stage, right
through to the Commissioning and Certification.
Installation of equipment has to be carefully considered for
all of the following reasons:

The installation must conform to the current
HSE regulations.

The installation must be certified and fit
for the purpose.

Consideration must be made for vibration and
noise transmission.

The working environment of the equipment conforms
to the manufacturer's recommendations.

SMP offer a commissioning service, which may suit customers who
undertake their own installation. Our service will eliminate any
snags during the first run up of the equipment where a customer
maybe unfamiliar with the equipment.

Training
Training is essential with all types of equipment. SMP can arrange training
days to cover the day-to-day operation of the equipment or for more
complicated tasks that certain pieces of equipment require, annual inspection
and maintenance. This service is more popular with the overseas client,
to avoid the expensive costs of flying an engineer to a remote location.

Correct maintenance is vital in order to minimize the risk of

Should your equipment fail, SMP can offer on site servicing throughout
the UK. This is backed up by our spares inventory, which should
meet with the urgent requirements of our customers. In some cases,
it can be quicker and less expensive to return the equipment to
SMP's workshop at Preston.

of spares kept at our Preston facility. Our credit facility will
enable spares to be dispatched quickly and efficiently to customers
with an approved credit account with SMP.

Current Pressure Regulations
Currently there is an enforceable legislation that lays down the
specific requirements for diving equipment and the operation of
pressurised air and gas systems. We are aware of the new European
legislation, which will be coming into force approximately June
2002. This will be monitored by H.S.E. It is SMP's normal working
practice and part of its quality system to use the IMCA/ADC guidelines
and code of practice for all maintenance and testing of diving
plan equipment.

On The Initial And Periodic Examination, Testing And Certification Of

Refurbishment, Repair And Service
SMP offer a full refurbishment, repair and service facility.
Refurbishment
We are able to offer complete renovation and refurbishment
of all types of Diving Equipment, whether it is a 25-year-old
Decompression Chamber that has not seen servicing for several
years or a 10 year old High Pressure Compressor, SMP can offer
full refurbishment and Re-Certification. It is equally important
to remember that the refurbishment of some critical components
of Diving Equipment will require the original manufacturers
Certification. SMP's manufacturing and information records
maybe able to help you with this major problem if the certificate
is not available.
Repair
We are able to offer all our clients our repair facility in
Preston. These repairs maybe simple electrical faults or the
major overhaul of a Company Asset, such as a broken Crank
Shaft on a Divers Gas Compressor.
Service Facility
Service of your Diving Equipment is essential for a safe working
practice and safety to the diver. SMP will carry out all your
routine inspections and servicing which will conform to the
latest legislation.
